Alternography: Alternative Process Photography
Meetings the third Wednesday of each month at 7 PM at the PhotoMidwest Gallery & Studio
Alternography is a made-up term that the group adopted to describe the array of alternative photography projects its members explore. Originally established to embrace plastic/toy camera work, the Alternography Group has expanded to include many non-digital photography techniques including ambrotypes, tintypes, cyanotypes, Van Dyke, bromoil, pinhole, caffenol, lumen prints, camera-less processes, and many others. Our emphasis is not on cameras and photo equipment, but rather on incorporating unique image making processes into our photography. The group welcomes anyone interested in expanding their photographic options, as well as those with alternative process experiences to share.
