Places Lived and Loved, Edie Swift, August Photographer of the Month

Elephant Train by Edie Swift

The photographs shown in the August Photographer of the Month exhibit were made by Edie Swift during a decade serving as a Foreign Service Officer.

According to Edie, "We were privileged to live in South Africa, work in East Africa, live in Mexico and work in Central America. I recently read a quote in the New York Times that said, 'You could live your whole in a foreign country and not understand the culture, but you will come to understand your own.' "

Images from the 'reentry' through Washington D.C. and, finally, Wisconsin have been included. This exhibit combines this journey with Edie's decision about 4 years ago to try printing on various metals.

The exhibit is open Sundays 12 - 4 pm at the CPM studio, through the month of August.
