SPONSOR | PhotoMidwest (formerly the Center for Photography at Madison) is sponsoring Of Midwest, By Midwest as part of the 2014 PhotoMidwest Festival. PhotoMidwest was created in 1998 to promote the photographic arts in Wisconsin. This year, along with its new name, PhotoMidwest is expanding its reach throughout the region with an emphasis on a regional aesthetic. PhotoMidwest offers monthly interest group meetings and photo critiques, exhibitions, and regional and national guest speakers. PhotoMidwest also has an extensive offering of classes in photography and the photographic arts. We are preparing a Midwest Speakers Bureau and a list of experienced class and workshop presenters as a resource for other photography organizations in the region.
The 2014 PhotoMidwest Festival is our 8th biennial PhotoMidwest event. This year, we are offering an intensive three-day kickoff to the festival following the opening reception of For Midwest, By Midwest. We are featuring lectures by noted regional and national speakers, workshops, guided photo shoots, classes, and other special events.
